Where am I?

I haven't blogged since February...it's a good thing this isn't my job, haha. I had to cut my program a bit short due to summer classes I needed to take. I officially left Florida on April 23rd and have been back in Michigan since April 24th.  I can't believe it's already been 2.5 weeks since I've gotten back. I miss it more every day. I've been trying to get a job (without luck) so I can go back to Florida to visit my boyfriend. Hopefully I can find a job soon, I need money. I've been in school for a week as well. I hate one of my classes (math, of course) but I think I will really enjoy the marketing class I'm taking. I can't wait until I'm done with school so I can start a real career with the company I love so much. I'll be back, Disney.

Extension Update

I know, I know...I've gotten awful at this whole blogging (and vlogging) business. I have succumbed to my long hours and need for sleep. There's been a lot of changes since I updated over a month ago. I moved into a different apartment complex; the one I originally wanted: The Commons! I now live in a 2 bedroom, 4 person apartment and it's small and cozy. I like it. The laundry is a huge plus!

Tomorrow is my last shift at Animal Kingdom, say what?! That's right, I will no longer be working in Animal Kingdom merchandise after tomorrow... I will be working in Epcot merchandise as a part of the 2015 Flower and Garden Festival! I am SO excited to be working at my favorite park!

My end date to my program changed recently as well. I will now be leaving in late April due to school. I'm sad to cut my program short by 2 weeks, but I have a feeling I'll be back in the next few years.

In less than 2 days, it will be the month of March. That means I'll have to say, "I'm leaving next month". It's scary. I'll have spent almost a year here. My life has changed drastically in that short amount of time. Part of me is ready to head back to Michigan, the other part is scared to death. But right now, the best thing for me is to finish university. I need my degree. As much as I hate the thought of leaving Disney, I know it's what is best for now. If it's meant to be, I'll be back.

Where Have I Gone?

I apologize I haven't posted in almost 3 months. Things down here have been crazy. So much has happened in those 3 months, so I'll just list some of the bigger things that happened.
*I successfully completed my Fall program and "graduated"
*My mom and brother came down for a week for vacation and it was great
*I took a surprise trip home to Michigan for 3 days
*I found out I'll be in Discovery Island merchandise in Animal Kingdom
*I had my first day of OJT today
*Pretty much all of my friends finished their programs and left :(
*I will be moving apartments this Friday


That's just some of what has happened. I miss my role at Pizzafari so so much and all of the people I worked with. Luckily, I'm not far from them. I hope I love merchandise as much as I loved my previous role. I still love this company and cannot wait to come back after I graduate.

Continuing My Journey

As I have mentioned in previous posts, (or did I? I'm very forgetful), I applied to extend my program into the Spring 2015 semester. I heard back about my extension two days ago...and was ACCEPTED! I received an offer to extend into Merchandise (my top role for Fall but 4th for extending)! Today I have accepted that offer! Looks like Disney is stuck with me until May! (;

Happenings

There's been a lot going on that has been keeping me from updating both my blog and my vlog channel. First off, my iMovie decided to quit on me a couple weeks ago and I've been trying all different things in order to fix it without any luck. Secondly, I've been going through some health problems. Nothing too serious, but enough to where I've had to make doctor appointments and get tests and blood work done. We're still not sure what is going on and that's stressing me out even more.

On a better note, extension applications came out on October 6th and just closed yesterday on the 14th. I DID put in for an extension! My 5 requested roles were: 1. BBB 2. Character Attendant 3. Attractions 4. Merchandise 5. Vacation Planner. This was a weird decision for me because only 2 of those were originally high interested when I applied for the fall program. I'll hear about my extension anywhere from October 21st-29th. Fingers crossed!

Not Much Change

Every day still feels the same, but like I said before, I still enjoy it. Work is hard, work is stressful, but my coworkers make everything fun. They're truly the best. I started my Exploring Marketing class earlier this morning and I have my first Exploring Leadership class in a little over an hour. Marketing went well, I really like my teacher - who also teaches Leadership - but I just wish it wasn't at 08:30! Since the last time I wrote, nothing much has really happened. I injured my shoulder so I'm on light duty until further notice. That's not very fun at all. I apologize the quality of my blog is gradually decreasing. I feel as if I never have much to write about, yet I'm always busy. I'm just busy with the same things every day!

Over a Month

It has been over a month since check-in. That feels absolutely crazy to me. It feels like it has flown by, but it also feels like I've been down here for a lot longer. People are right when they say every day feels the same. Wake up, eat, get dressed, get on bus, work, get on bus home, eat, maybe hit a park for closing, eat, shower, sleep, repeat. It sounds boring and repetitive, but I still enjoy it. There's days where I don't want to go to work and just sleep all day, but at the end of the day, I'm always glad I worked. I still love my location and my coworkers and my hours are fantastic. I haven't done much out of the ordinary lately. I've stayed in the Disney bubble; I quite enjoy it. I went to Blizzard Beach for the first time ever on Thursday with a few of my flatmates and one's coworkers. It was a lot of fun for the whole hour we were there until we got rained (stormed) out. We booked my family's vacation last week! They're coming down in November and I could not be more excited! I LOVE it down here and never want to leave, but I can't wait to show them everything here!
